I would have to agree with a few that have posted here. There seems to be a mind set in some of the mac community that you have to upgrade! You need to have the newest shiny mac! And frankly I really don't get it. As I am typing this on my G3/800/10.4/768 iBook that bloody well does everything I need it to do on a daily basis. I have a dual G4 and dual G5 in the home office, but I really don't have the time to be in there with my daily computer needs. So if what you have does what you need? Video card issue? Meh. I have had 2 G3/900 iBooks pouch out on me with video issues, but let me tell ya, they where a hell of a lot cheaper to replace and do what I wanted them to do, than the newest mac on the block. And with that I will put away my soap box and continue using this aging beast on a a daily basis. ;)

Just called around some more, it seems they have the base 27" iMac for $1615 and in stock in several locations.
The top stock 27" iMac isn't in stock anywhere near me (Austin, TX), but it is on sale for $1899, and you can order it online.
I've got my name on a base 27" iMac, and look forward to picking it up after work!

got a 40gb ipod myself but the shuffle would be great as it only costs �99 for the 1gb version and i could afford to abuse it a bit more ! rather than protecting it to death like my ipod.

Ok, so I ended up taking the plunge and buying a Peel 520, My iPod is working perfectly as a phone, however there is one very annoying bug which I wonder if anyone has had a reasonable work around for. Now being able to change volume when your headphones are plugged in is a known bug but I was wondering if anyone had found a fix for it other then drilling a hole in the case.

How fast is the drive? That may be one of the problems, especially if you're connecting it via usb because USB data is sent in beeps, like this --------- if that makes sense, whereas USB 3.0 and firewire flow constantly.

no it works you won't damage your machine. I have a 2009 2.66 mini with 8gb ram it works fine for more then 16 months. your chance of machine damage is nil because it is 8gb ram.

I will be there for around 1pm. I have scheduled around this day with my only client meeting ending at 11am. My friend will be looking after my business for the day and trying his best not to interrupt me. I will be wearing a brown jacket and probably carrying a black leather bag, if you see me say hi.
If anyone wants to buddy up in the queue then either PM me or leave a reply here and we can arrange something. It would be nice to have someone to chat to and to help hold places if we need the loo :D

yeah, i'm not sure what time i'll head to the mall...probably sometime around 6-ish. at&t store is closer to where i live, but come on, who wants to go to an at&t store?
Not a matter of want, but of necessity. I tried the Apple store first, but they just said "duh... what?" when I asked if they could set me up with two phones and a family plan.
Thus, I went to the AT&T store; which is where I'll be at 7am next Friday. Sure, I'd rather be at the Apple store, but ultimately I'd rather have 2 new iPhones.

Lol, but let's be mature here, W7 is pretty flawless as on OS, especially for Micro$oft. It's less buggy than 10.7 DP2, and I didn't feel like triple-booting with 10.6 too, so I'll stick to W7 anytime 10.7 DP2 isn't quite reliable enough yet.

If you've got the matter/silver ones, then you'll just need a miniDisplayPort to DVI adapter as well as an HDMI male to DVI female adapter
