If they can be shared with everyone, I am sure they would. But, if I were you and have an option to port to EB2, I 'd probably do that.
If porting going to cost you,you may want to wait till Jan , which is only 3 months away.
As per current situation for EB3 I, without spill over reaching to EB3, its difficult to have hope that something good can happen until something like visa recapture HR 5882 happens. So, there is nothing to loose to wait till Jan 2010 & believing that IV Admin & Seniors are have plans to initiate or have already initiated something.
I googled for 'Immigration bill in Jan 2010', and got News for Immigration bill (http://www.reuters.com/article/politicsNews/idUSTRE5765Y420090807), if that is what Admin has referred in his post; (my words can put me in bad list of admin), but still I would say that Admin is very (over) optimistic, If I am not wrong but that's elections year and in other posts IV members have different views about response to this bill in election year.
My GC is just stared, and PD for EB3 I is 2001, I am 8-9 years behind and GC PD calculator of IV shows my PD to be current in 2032 , so may be I am over pessimistic.

I had seen similar post by some one and poster says he was asked to work with receipt by customer service of USCIS.But it can't be validated and again your employer will ask for renewed EAD to be frank this is a quagmire of uncertainties .

L1A is for managers and you actually have to work atleast one year outside the US to apply for a GC (L1A - GC)
L1B is most commonly used (abused). There is no minimum required pay and has no cap. Moving from L1B to H1b is a nightmare.

Folks,
Not to hijack the message posted by the OP, I have a question:
If I file 485 at this time with EB-3 labor approval, can i still upgrade to EB-2 later with the same employer (after 485 has been filed). I understand that the employer will have to redo the PERM and 140 but is it doable? At what stage will I be able to port the PD from my EB-3 labor in that case?
Anyone who has done that before? Ideas?

I am in same boat. What i am thinking is, just work for that employer
for say 1 year or so and then invoke AC21. Then you should have any issues.

I think, you could wait for few more weeks. Sometimes, the delay may be due to the unavailability of appointment dates at the nearest uscis office. In your case, I guess it is Newark or New Jersey or whatever..which I guess is an office with lot of applicants under its jurisdiction.
If you apply this logic to a person from a remote place, that will answer why he receives a notice early.
Well I won't suggest you to wait for more than 6-8 weeks.

Do you think thye just checked the online status and responded back. My lawyer says that they spoke with someone at Texas service center and they told them that they have received the response. I am currently working as full time and planning to move to consulting. I have the below questions
(i) I know its a bit risky to move to consulting right now compared to Fulltime, but still i See the H1 petetions for most of consutling companies are getting approved.
Do you think is it OK to move to consulting from Full time?
(ii)As client letter is mandatory these dayz, whats the best approach to apply for transfer? Like e finding the project and proceed for premium processing

We got "Approval Notice Sent" emails 6 days back. I received my EAD 3 days back but haven't received my wife's yet.
Has anyone filed for Replacement EAD? Do we need to wait 30 days from the date we received the approval email? How long does it take usually to receive a Replacement card?
Please share your experiences.

"Card production ordered" is the first status that you will see and then it will change to "Approval notice sent". Tentatively, Your card will be postmarked with the date when your status changed to "Approval notice sent" and it takes upto 4 calendar days to receive the card through mail. Usually, approval notice goes to attorney on file for 765, if you have filed G28 otherwise you will receive it. Call USCIS and find out whether the card is ordered then ask for follow-up actions and decide whether to file for replacement card. There is no separate form for replacement cards - you will still be using same 765 form; I guess, same processing time applies - you may expedite by taking infopass after receiving the receipt notice for your replacement card by providing the letter from the employer. Hope this helps.

My problem with these hearings is that they play soccer with the interests of immigrants. There are pro and anti immigrant views in discussion.
Enforcement is all about closing the borders and deporting immigrants. But why do we not see hearings to discuss and introduce bills that fine the employers and put them in jail if they hire an undocumented? But nobody, not even the anti-immigrant groups are pushing for such a bill. A lot of undocumented problem will be solved if employers cannot hire undocumented. We call immigrants as illegal, but why can't we use the same standard for employers who illegally hire undocumented?
Secondly when they talk about legalization and path to citizenship, there is no country limits for them. But as soon as we talk about removing country limits in front of the same people, we hear talks about diversity etc.
The same people who favor legals in such discussions, become anti-legal when they have a chance to do something for legals. Why a simple bill like recapture not introduced by these same people till now?
Overall Immigration is more about politics, votes than actually solving a problem. If these folks are serious about fixing a problem, a lot could have been done till now. We need to hear more action than just talk.

I have filed I-485 application myself for me & my wife on July 5th, 2007.
I have listed all the documents in the packet on the cover letter, but forgot to sign the at the bottom (both me & my wife) after 'Sincerely'.It has blank in place of my signature and name printed in the brackets.Will it be a problem?
What should I do now to correct this? Should I send the signed cover letter separately (explaining that I forgot to sign)? Your suggestion is highly appreciated.
