Hello,
My labor got approved couple days ago and my employer would like to file I-140 without using an attorney. I have few questions, it might seem simple to you but I am confused:
I am a software engineer and labor approved for SOC 15-1032, what should be filled in the nontechnical description of job field? For H1B, my company listed duties of the position on the cover letter for this question, should it be the same way for I-140?
Anyone has sample template of the cover letter?
My company has not filed tax returns for the last quarter, will the returns of second last quarter do? I have W-2 which is substantially higher than the proffered wage.
Since I am earning more than the proffered wage should that be filled under "wages" on I-140 or the offered wage mentioned on perm?

Please help me again.
My husband's company lawyer already filed our I-485 but I made a mistake in entering my present company detail. Basically, I'm in H1 also and my transfer is still in process , so the present company detail I entered was for my old company not my new company ( which is still in process but I already got the receipt number). I didnt' know at the time of filing which company to enter that's why. Sorry, for being clueless but I really need your advice. Thank you.

Sorry. I explained in the comments that go with the photo and should have included that here. This is a drinking bowl for dairy cattle manufactured by the Starline company, circa 1960. I found this in an old milking barn. The cow pushes her nose against the star-shaped lever and fresh water from the nozzle fills the bowl.

My wife is currently on h4. She has applied for H4 to F1 trasfer i539 application with university A in May 2008. She is currently enrolled in University A on H4 as her application is pending. Now she got admission from a better unversity (starting Spring - Jan 2009) and she wants to join this university. What is the process to transfer her university given her i539 application is still pending (and probably remain pending till early 2009).
Regarding transfer, you need to wait from H4 to F1 before she can start attending classes.
Once you have a F1 transfer, all you need to do is talk to International Students Advisor dept of univ A and they would advise on what needs to be done. It's easy and straightforward.
Make sure that your wife still holds a valid I-20 from univ B, before you start this.

ATA conf is a popular event among South Indian (Telugu) immigrants - this year their meeting is in NJ. During this even they seems to have an immigration forum with Attorney Murthy - details are below. If enough IV members are attending - it will be a good idea to have an informal meeting among ourselves. I had a visa from Company A till Oct1 2008 and I 94 till that date.I changed to Company B and was given a new I 94 till June 2009.I made a trip to Canada and got a different I 94 again till Oct 1st 2008 based on the old stamped visa.I didnot get my passport restamped during the trip.
Questions
Which I 94 is valid?
Am I overstaying If I stay after Oct 1st?
I have an appointment in Halifax on 16th Oct,Will the Halifax consulate revalidate it?(I have changed companies here)

If I dont want to travel,Can I apply for H1B renewal now?(There is a rule to apply a min of 6 months before expiry)

what are the chances of getting i-485 approval with a shoplifiting charge when i was under the age of 18 years old and my friend was over 18 years old when he got caught. there was no jail time just fine. please help us.
